An ear to listen
A hand to hold.
A shoulder that beckons
A heart to unfold.
A love that awaits
With patience and care.
The weight of a burden
A friend has to share.
Dear Father please help me
Your Word to convey.
To comfort this friend
And to counsel your way.
Their needs are so great
But your love conquers all.
Your touch heals all heart wounds
The big ones and small.
If we but just follow
Your Word as a guide,
Sickness and sorrow
Will fall by our side.
And Fruit of the Spirit
Joy, peace, and love
Will abound in our lives
Here on earth as above.
