Battling for others is called intercession; it is battling in the spirit for Satan to release souls, situations, groups, territories.
God has given us many powerful weapons to fight with – His Word, His Blood, His Name. He has given us the keys to the Kingdom and said that whatever is bound on earth (in our world) is bound in heaven (bound in the spiritual world). We have authority to bind spirits and to cast them out.
The greatest weapon God has given us is love. We are to love our enemies, pray for and do good to those who hate us. It is very difficult to love others when they react to our Christian faith and reject us or are nasty or sarcastic in return. But with help from the Holy Spirit, we can hold our tongues and continue to love. As we persist and pray in tongues, the Holy Spirit will give us things to say and do that unlock their resistance to us and to the things of God. Love overcomes all, and hearts can change.
People are watching us. Many are longing to see someone who walks the walk and truly follows God’s principles. As we battle in the Spirit, love “in the flesh” and kindly tell them God’s truth, we will see victories.
