How do you react when you receive a difficult doctor’s report, when he or she says you have some type of cancer, need a kidney transplant, or your recent tests show signs of serious heart disease? Your immediate reaction is shock. Why me?
Unless God gives you a miraculous healing (which can happen) you know that your life from now on will be different. You may have to change your lifestyle and eating habits, need an operation, take treatments. Overcoming a serious diagnosis is not impossible but it takes faith and persistence. Above all, you can’t give up!
It Is God’s Will to Heal You!
First of all you need to know that God didn’t send you this disease to teach you a lesson. The devil came to steal, kill and destroy but Jesus came to give you life and life abundant. It is His will to heal you! (John 10:10).
When Jesus walked the earth He went about doing good and healing all who were afflicted by the devil. He is still doing that now. Hebrews 13:8 tells us that Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever. He wants you healed! He has a plan for your life and more for you to do. (Acts 10:38, Jeremiah 28:11)
If God wants you healed, He has a pathway to that healing and will guide you if you submit your doubts, fears and future to Him. (Phillippians 4:6)
Remember that your thoughts and words have great power. The power of life and death is in the tongue. Negativity negates hope and brings negative results. The Word of God brings hope and healing. (Proverbs 18:21)
Steps to Overcoming
Here are some steps to handle the difficult situation and get you through this crisis period in your life.
Learn, meditate on and speak some healing scriptures. The Bible contains many healing scriptures. Find one or two that you like and repeat them and take them like medicine. See Part 4-8. Here are three of my favorites.
Psalm 103:2-4 NIV Praise the Lord, my soul, and forget not all his benefits—who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion…
Psalm 107: 20 NLT He sent out his word and healed them, snatching them from the door of death.
Isaiah 53:5 NJKV…And by His stripes we are healed.
Persist and don’t give up. Read the parable of the persistent widow in Luke 18:1-8. Having a negative attitude and giving up is the worst thing you can do. God comes through when things seem darkest.
Speak God’s truth to the devil. God’s Word is Truth. And Isaiah 53:5 says that we were healed by what Jesus endured for us on the cross. Say, “This disease is your plan, devil, and I reject it. God has promised me long life. Talk to the pain, “Pain you are from the pits of hell. I command you to leave in Jesus’ name.” Talk to the fear. “God has not given me a spirit of fear but of power and of love and of a sound mind” (John 17:17, Psalm 91:16, 2 Timothy 1:7) NKJV)
Thank God for the things that you haven’t yet seen. Say, “Thank you God that I am cancer free, all tumors are gone and my body is strong and healthy. Thank you, Lord, my kidneys are healthy and operating.” Thank you, Lord, for a heart that is whole and functions the way you designed it to function. This is believing and trusting in His Word!
Trust that God has a plan for your recovery. He has a plan for you and you can’t achieve it if you are not alive and well and strong. There will be a fight ahead but He will give you the will and strength to fight it. You are his special child and He loves you with an everlasting love. Fight and you will win! Let’s pray.
Dear Heavenly Father:
Your Word tells me that it is Your will that I be healed.
When you went to the cross, You took not only my sins
but all of my infirmities and diseases.
I would really like a supernatural healing
but I will submit to whatever path you have for me.
I know that You will never leave me or forsake me.
If I have to have treatments or an operation,
You will be there to protect me.
Give the doctors wisdom and guide their hands.
You always get good out of every problem or calamity.
I submit to Your loving will and
ask these things in Jesus’ powerful name.
AMEN!
