8-9 A Mother’s Love

During ministry in Lowell, Mass., I met a large very wonderful Hispanic family. Ramona’s son Nelson had Aids from drugs. The following shows a mother’s love and devotion. I got to speak the following to many of the family at one time.

In the last few months, I have seen Ramona’s love for Nelson. While he was in the hospital, she went every day that she could. She sometimes went twice a day. She brought him homemade soup, fruit, juices … anything she thought would nourish him or make him happy.

I watched her feed him, forcing mouthful after mouthful into him, so that he might put on a little weight. In the last days, she convinced the doctor to give him some blood to prolong his life. And it did for a few more days … days that were precious to her.

Ramona loves every one of you. She would die for each of you, every child of hers, every grandchild or great grandchild!

But I tell you dear ones, God loves you more than this. He loves you a hundred, a thousand times more. He sent his son Jesus to die for you that you might have life everlasting and spend eternity with Him in heaven. But you must accept Him into your life – ask Him to be your Lord and Savior. Only then can He lead you on the paths of righteousness. Only then can He show you the plan that He has for your life. Accept Him today, don’t wait. The time is getting short!

Would you pray with me? Please repeat this prayer together aloud after me. And then let’s say the Lord’s Prayer together.

Dear Heavenly Father,

Please come into my heart today and forgive all of my sins.
Cleanse me and help me to resist temptation.

From this day forward I will live for You.
I want Your kingdom to come on earth as it is in heaven.
Bless me and my family and help me to walk with You.

I ask this in Jesus name.

AMEN.

I followed another son, Hector, who was in and out of prison, then finally lost track of the family. May the Lord bless them wherever they are.
